This weekend, Luke Mackay will join his best mate John Chessells as a 200 game player for MFNC.

Luke’s journey to the double ton has been an incredible display of resilience and determination. A succession of injuries, mainly hamstrings, has seen him miss more than two seasons’ worth of games, making this milestone even more meaningful.

Luke began his career on the wing before transitioning into the backline in recent years. An accumulator in his younger days, his chiselling left foot passes have long been a feature of his game, slicing opposition defences open with deft touch.

Having made his senior debut when Troy Makepeace was coach, Luke has represented the club across three different decades and featured in multiple finals series, including the 2009 premiership.

He was one of the team’s leading players during that premiership season, finishing in the top three of the best and fairest.

A wonderful achievement built on talent, loyalty, resilience and determination.
